We Are Explorers x Nalgene Australian Custom Water Bottle
When I was younger, I remember winning a couple of art competitions. The first one was a colouring competition at McDonalds and the second was an art poster competition at primary school. So when I was picked as the winner of the We Are Explorers x Nalgene Australia Custom Water Bottle Competition, I felt like a little excited kid again. I just so happened to come across the competition just before the closing date, so was completely taken by surprise they had chosen my work the very next week!
The brief was to create something Aussie flavoured that reflected the outdoors and adventure, something Nalgene water bottles are perfect for. As a runner and someone who loves hiking and being out in nature, my Aussie Floral and Fauna illustrations, perfectly reflected my Australian outdoor experience.
I had a lot of fun putting together my bottle design (they have lots of bottle and lid colour options), and after some final tweaks from pre-production it all looked so pretty. The best part of the production process is seeing the product in your hands months later and it’s as amazing as you imaged during the pre-production phase. I’ve known of the Nalgene brand for awhile, so I know it’s a great quality bottle too.
One of the bonuses of winning the competition was being able to get some samples for myself. I’m looking forward to taking my bottle out on my next hike and any of our trips around Victoria, even to my pilates classes and keeping hydrated. I’m really excited about people using my bottle as they explore the Australian outdoors and even travel the world!
